Introduction: HOME Palm WITH Pseud Commercial enterprise HIGH Pressure level Incandescent lamp

I saw in the scrap yard several beauteous-shape lamp bulbs thrown absent. I came up with some ideas for doing a dwelling decorative lamp from these broken lamps and collected few bulbs. Today, I'm willing to share how I did to turn these bulbs to home decoration lamp in industrial looking dash.

Step 1: SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Hydrargyrum is used in a variety of light bulbs, much as: fluorescent lamps, wad fluorescent lamps (CFL), Tenor Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps including metal halide, high pressure sodium, and mercury vapor lamps. Amount of mercury in different types of lighting (in mg) are as below:

  • Fluorescent lamps: 0 – 100.
  • CFL: 0 – 50.
  • Ceramic Metal Halide: 0 – 50.
  • High Force per unit area Sodium: 10 – 50.
  • Mercury Vapor: 10 – 1000.

While arc tubes (a smaller envelope) of HID lamps are intact, the Hg within them poses no health risks. Wakeful bulbs can live dangerous waste according to local environmental regulations. Even if they are non regulated by rules, we have to be careful when handling them. To work with mercury-containing bulb, the PPE ask to be worn to minimize exposure to hazards that cause injuries and illnesses.

Then I did just about adjustments in my clause as intimately as notice about the use of quicksilver-containing light bulbs, and recommend to use the other types of lamp, such arsenic: incandescent bulbs with interesting shapes which contain no Mercury at entirely OR Light-emitting diode filament longsighted tube electric-light bulb....

A 8 bit led stick consist of 8 leds - type 5050 RGB LEDs in which the very consolidated WS2812 LED driver IC is integrated. In my visualize, deuce 8 bit LED sticks are neighboring together. We pot control them with hardly a single pin from NodeMCU ESP8266, in my case IT is whole number pin D4. Each 8 bit led stick has 4 pad connectors at each end, ii for the powering (4-7VDC &adenosine monophosphate; GND) and deuce for the information (DIN/DOUT & GND).

Step 4: ASSEMBLY WORKS

1. LED sticks assembly

  • Preparing 2 x 8 BIT- LED sticks

  • Soldering 3 pads of 8 BIT–LEDs pin: GND (Controller), DIN and GND (Tycoo supply) to 3 led pins. I commonly keep the led pins which were cut from my led side by side projects.

  • The LED sticks are "chainable" by soldering the yield of one stick into the input of some other. I soldered two LED sticks in backrest position in collaboration and past soldered its might supply pad (4-7VDC) to a light-emitting diode pin.

  • We can visualize a small gap between 2 LED sticks.

  • To emulate the components placed inside a proper flooding-pressure bulb, I bent 4 copper wires as same as the shape of blade rods set in spite of appearanc realistic hard-hitting bulb and past soldered them to LED module above. Firstly, I soldered the power cater pin "4-7VDC" to extraordinary bent copper wire.

  • Then I soldered led module at pins: GND (Controller), DIN and GND (Power provide) to 3 remaining bent copper wires. The visualise below shows the similarity between components privileged the fake assembly bulb and the real high electric-light bulb.

2. Bulb assembly:

  • I selected a beauteous bulb and cut bulb socket by hand over adage. Follow protective because the bulb is very fragile and it can injure you.

  • Lancinating a small PCB in ball-shaped shape, its dimension is slenderly smaller than medulla oblongata socket so that later we can easy base information technology inside the bulb. I soldered 4 cop wires to this PCB.

  • Order all above soldered components inside the incandescent lamp, carefully act alignment and mucilage PCB board into the medulla oblongata socket.

  • Note that we have to solder 4 immobilise male lintel happening PCB which are connected to 4 copper wires of led faculty before put complete components into the bulb. Picture below show 4 x 4 pin headers on the PCB, entirely scarred pin header is used, the others for alignment.

3. Lamp Base:

At first, I intended to use acrylic plate to make a lamp base, but this lamp bulb is high and easily to fall. I looked for something heavy enough and I detected one broken high power thyristor module SKKH570 SEMIKRON. It is good idea to score my lamp looks look-alike progressive style.

Typical applications of SEMIKRON high great power thyristor module : AC motor softstarters/ Input converters for AC inverter drives/ D.C. motor control/ Temperature control (e.g. for ovens)/ Professionals light dimming (studios, theaters)....

  • Thyristor - TOP

  • Thyristor - BOTTOM: Thyristor is equipped with precise big warmth-dip plate at the bottom. When the thyristor is functioning, the generated heating is transfered through aluminium nitride instrumentality isolated metal baseplate.

  • Glue assembled lamp on the top of thyristor module. Information technology has a gap betwixt the high might connectors and thyristor body thus control cable is easy threaded underneath these connectors.

  • Cutting one small PCB, soldering a small control shield for ESP8266 NodeMCU with 4 pin male header. This header detail is as below:

*** GND (LED STICK) - GND (NODEMCU)

*** Blare (LED Put forward) - D4 (NODEMCU)

*** 4-7VDC (LED STICK) - VIN (NODEMCU)

*** GND (LED STICK) - GND (NODEMCU)

  • Glue ESP8266 NodeMCU PCB harbor at the gate connector of thyristor module. It fits perfectly.

  • Finish! It looks really stylish....

Step 5: PROGRAMMING

We can use this light bulb in 2 modes:

  • Lighting effect mode: It can perform some beautiful effects, such as: rainbow, fire, fade in/ dissolve,....
  • Binary internet time manner: Clock time can atomic number 4 read from the NTP server and updated over WIFI by ESP8266 NODEMCU. We motive 4 LEDs equivalent to a 4-chip double star figure to show each digit and we can identify each digit by specific gloss. The detail is shown below:
